Jonathan Blow, at this point best known for sperging out on Twitter at inferior game devs, was at one point best known as an indie darling. While Braid may seem like a simple Mario clone, to the cretins of 2008, Braid represented the coming indie golden age, and honestly, its best remembered that way. The game itself is indeed a fairly simple Mario clone, with some interesting twists, and theoretically is about some deep themes. I wouldn't know, I've never beaten it.

Fez had a very interesting dev as well btw. Would've assumed the guy was a generic hipster soyboy indie game dev from his appearance, but apparently he packed some heat :marseyselfimmolation:

The developer was in a documentary where he cried about how hard everything was. I think that he later rage quit part 2 cause people kept making fun of him.

Dude was just weak. But fez was free on ps plus and it was a decent puzzle game overall.

Fishman was only one side of the dev team of Fez. When he 'cancelled' Fez 2, he no longer was working with the other lead dev so there's always a question of just how much did he contribute to Fez 1's development

I never played Braid, but I really liked his other game, The Witness. I still think it's the best puzzle game on the PC (Talos Principle is right up there too though). Too bad this guy only releases a game like once every 10 years.
