Like starving trout to a fly

Aside from artwork, I have a decently fleshed-out game concept that I would like to have developed/published. Game loop, controls, level design concepts, enemy AI, menu system, marketing, demographics, stretch goals, and all that good stuff are in my design document (which one small dev team told me was already too big...). But to really attract a proper team and backers, I absolutely want a small demo to showcase. I have zero knowledge about programming or anything more than a superficial understanding of how games are developed. Is it normal to just search the internet for a person to create AI and another person to create models and another for levels and so forth, or is there a more efficient way?

And yes, I understand making even a small demo/proof of concept will take money. I've taken that into account (pun intended. Always intend your puns, cowards.)

The human-made art here is clearly just a bunch of copy/paste, or a screenshot of a game with a filter on it. Look at the columns on the walls. They're all completely identical. Same exact texture on all of them. That doesn't happen when a human actually draws 10 columns. But it does happen when a mediocre artist draws one column and copy/pastes it. Or when they use an asset pack to create a 3D scene and then apply some kind of art filter to it.

So, maybe we can postpone the deep dive into AI vs Human, and just acknowledge that the human artist here did an extremely cheap/sloppy job? Is that what we're supposed to be "supporting" and "protecting" by not using AI art?

The left is AI or the Right? The left looks better to me. Plus some platforms don't like promos where the gun is pointing out. As lame as that sounds. Apple, for example. Ideally, they don't want the gun at all but otherwise pointed away.

And AI did much better job at composition because it copied the most and easy common one, your artist had not idea what composition is.

My company (F150) stopped hiring H-1b candidates in 2023 and 2024. I volunteer in the talent scout committee and we were instructed not to push candidates that require h-1b because there are lots of local candidates .

Do you know why? When you hire a H-1b you need to go through tons of slow & pathetic hoops to get the paperwork done. And on average it costs arounds 10k with the lawyer and petition expenses. Also add to that the uncertainty of visa rejection and such.

It's just way easier and cheaper for an employer to hire American. In some cases they hire international because they need to.

Market is extremely bad for new grads and i think that's just part of the cycle. If you're qualified and good enough you will thrive sooner or later. Some random h-1b dude can't take away what's yours. Cheers 🥂
